Jan. 4, 2013 - Valmont Bike Park to host Saturday’s race on limited course

The New Year’s Resolution, “Pre-Nationals” Cyclocross Race will be held at Valmont Bike Park on Saturday, Jan. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon. The park will remain closed to non-event riders.

This local race will provide information to Valmont Bike Park staff in preparation for the park to host the USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships in January of 2014. The course for Saturday’s race has been carefully designed to minimize impacts to park trails.

The bike park remains closed to public riding due to poor conditions. Park staff is removing snow and ice from areas of the park including the gravity features. These areas of the park will re-open for public use once conditions improve and users can ride safely, without excessive damage to trails or features.

The Parks and Recreation Department appreciates the community’s understanding of these weather-related trail closures.
