Board of Zoning Adjustment (BOZA)
The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BOZA) hears appeals from developers, architects and builders whose building permit applications have been denied. BOZA may modify the application of specific zoning requirements and hear appeals to decisions made by the zoning administrator.
The BOZA typically meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. The board will meet either in the City Council Chambers, 1777 Broadway or hold the meeting Virtually. The dates, times and locations are subject to change.

The BOZA Variance Application includes the application requirements and review criteria for requests for a variance to a setback requirement. The application can be found in the Applications & Forms Database.
The BOZA consists of five members appointed by City Council, each to five-year terms. Board members must be properly experienced and trained to make qualified decisions about matters relating to building construction.
