Significance

This high-level snapshot includes key indicators and trends of Boulder population (overall and by age and race/ethnicity), educational attainment, life expectancy, CU Boulder student demographics, housing costs and income, unemployment rate, and job growth.

Metrics and Data Sources

A variety of metrics and data sources are represented on this dashboard. All data is limited to Boulder City limits whenever possible, and when data is depicted for the broader Boulder County, it is noted in the graphs. Comparisons to Colorado state and the USA are included when relevant. Boulder city data on population growth, job growth, housing costs, and income includes Area I and Area II annexations and comes from the City of Boulder Department of Planning, Housing, and Sustainability. All other dashboard data comes from a variety of public sources. To view individual data sources and notes, use the mouse to hover over a particular data point on a graph.
