Tom Carr

City Attorney
Tom Carr has been the City Attorney since 2010. He brings over 20 years of experience to the job. Carr has served assistant U.S. attorney for New York's eastern district, and he was Seattle's city attorney from 2003 to 2009. He earned his law degree from New York Law School and a bachelor's degree in sociology from St. John's University.
City Attorney Office Hours
- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding holidays)
- Closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.
About the City Attorney's Office
The City Attorney is the legal advisor to the City Council, all city boards and commissions and all city officials. The City Attorney also represents the city in city litigation and serves as City Prosecutor in Municipal Court.
The City Attorney's Office staff includes nine lawyers, three paralegals and five support staff.
The office of the Boulder City Attorney cannot give legal advice concerning private legal disputes.
