OSBT Field Trip: 3 PM - 5 PM
On Monday, August 22nd, staff will be facilitating a field trip with the OSBT to discuss a variety of topics and information related to visitor infrastructure in the Doudy Draw area. Participants will meet at 3PM at the Doudy Draw Trailhead and hike south as the staff provide information and respond to questions from the Board. At the September OSBT regular meeting, staff will be presenting an agenda item related to an overall update on the department’s trails program with a special focus on trail condition assessments, current estimate on maintenance backlog, key projects identified for the next several years and an awareness of all the thoughtful strategies used to design, build and maintain trails. The goal of the field trip is to focus on a few key topics in the field so that the Trustees can see first hand the benefits of strategic condition assessments of trails, effective designs for sustainable trails and learn about the myriad of options staff use to leverage funding with partners, volunteers and contractors to steward the city’s trails.
