Nicotine Product Regulations Listening Session
The City of Boulder is responding to concerns from a community group seeking more effective options to limit youth access to nicotine products. The Boulder City Council has requested that staff explore options and prepare a draft ordinance that expands regulations and better-prevents youth access to nicotine products. Regulatory options under consideration are:
- raising the age for sales,
- banning flavored products and
- increasing the price by imposing a tax
These options will be presented to City Council at a public hearing on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
The City is convening an information session with retailers of e-cigarette products and related supplies to review and discuss the proposed regulations.
Please join us for a Nicotine Product Regulations Listening Session about youth access with city staff to discuss the proposed regulations.
