INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT HOTLINE - POSTED JULY 12, 2019

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP)

OSMP staff will spot apply Plateau, an EPA Category III herbicide, to several small occurrences of tall oatgrass at US Patent-Bear Peak and US Patent-Green Mountain properties, located south of Flagstaff Road, east of Bison Drive and west of Boulder City Limits. The Gregory Canyon, Green Mountain West Ridge, Bear Canyon and Fern Canyon trails are in the vicinity of several of the small application sites.  Maps displaying specific application sites can be found at Gregory Trailhead, Green Mt West Ridge access, the Mesa/Fern Canyon intersection and the Mesa/Bear Canyon intersection.

OSMP staff will spot apply Clearcast, an EPA Category III herbicide, to common teasel and or hairy willowherb at the following properties. 

  • Mary Moore, along the Four Mile Creek corridor located south of Lee Hill Drive and west of Broadway Street.  The Foothills Trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.
  • Teller Farm-North, located south of Valmont between 75th and 95th Streets.
  • Ertl lll North and South, located north of Valmont between 75th and 95th Streets.

OSMP Staff will apply Milestone and Clearcast, EPA Category III herbicides. to teasel and thistle at the Van Vleet North, Burke I, Gebhard properties, located north of Highway 36, south of Baseline and west of Cherryvale. The South Boulder Creek Trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.

OSMP staff will apply Polaris, an EPA Category III herbicide to green ash and crack willow at the Van Vleet North, Burke I, Gebhard properties, located north of Highway 36, south of Baseline and west of Cherryvale. The South Boulder Creek Trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.

An OSMP Contractor will cut-stump apply Polaris, an EPA Category III herbicide to Russian olive at the Weiser – North property, located north of Valmont, east of 75th and west of 95th Streets.

Parks and Recreation Urban Resources

The Parks and Recreation Natural Lands staff will be applying Milestone and Telar, EPA Category III herbicides, to control perennial pepperweed, noxious thistles, common teasel, common mullein, and other weed species to the natural areas of Eaton Park, located at 6505 Nautilus Court.
