INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT HOTLINE - POSTED JULY 31, 2020

This information was posted on Friday, July 31 for applications that will take place the week of August 3 , 2020.

 

Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP)

OSMP staff will spot apply Milestone, an EPA Category III herbicide, to common teasel at Van Vleet North property, located south of South Boulder Road and west of Cherryvale Drive. The Cherryvale trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.

 

OSMP staff will spot apply Imazapic 2SL, an EPA Category III herbicide, to tall oatgrass at the Boulder Mountain Parks properties, located east of Bison Drive and south of Flagstaff Road. The Longs Canyon, Green Mountain West Ridge, and Green Bear trails are in the vicinity of the treatment areas.

 

OSMP staff will spot apply Polaris and Clearcast, EPA Category III herbicides to purple loosestrife and hairy willow-herb at the following properties:

  • Culver and Boulder Valley Farms, located north of Valmont and immediately east and west of 95th Street. There are no trails in the vicinity of the treatment area.
  • ERTL and Weiser/Kolb, located east of 75th Street, north of Valmont and west of 95th Street. The White Rocks Trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.
  • T.H.P. – West, located south of Greenbriar Boulevard and west of Highway 93. The South Boulder Creek-West trail is in the vicinity of the treatment area.

 

OSMP staff will spot apply Milestone, an EPA Category III herbicide, to Russian knapweed at the Anderson property, located south of Arapahoe Road and East of 75th Street.

 

OSMP staff will spot apply Polaris, EPA Category III herbicide, to purple loosestrife and hairy willow-herb at the IBM Conservation Easement Property, located east of 63rd Street and north of the Diagonal Highway.

Parks and Recreation Urban Resources

The Parks and Recreation Natural Lands staff will cut-stump apply Habitat, an EPA Category III herbicide to control Japanese knotweed to  50-200 feet north of the bus stop that is located on the west side of Broadway just north of the intersection of Broadway and Mountain Laurel Place this is near Broadway and Norwood Avenue.

 

The Parks and Recreation Natural Lands staff will spot apply Clearcast, an EPA Category III herbicide, to purple loosestrife and hairy willowherb at the North Dam – along the outflow ditch from Boulder Reservoir.

Prairie Dog Management -Boulder Municipal Airport and Parks and Recreation Urban Resources

Throughout the summer on an as-needed basis, prairie dog burrows that are encroaching on airport facilities or the Boulder Reservoir dam-face buffers will be treated in accordance with local, state and/or federal regulations using a Pressurized Exhaust Rodent Controller (PERC) machine that pipes carbon monoxide into prairie dog burrows.
