Additional Records Request Information
Per State Archive Retention guidelines, Boulder Municipal Court has purged all physical and electronic records for General and Traffic records older than four years. Therefore, the court cannot release any information on cases older than four years.
Boulder Municipal Court can release juvenile non-traffic case records to only the defendant or the defendant’s parents. Delivery method for juvenile records is pick-up only and the defendant (or defendant’s parents) must show proper identification before the court can release case information.
PLEASE BE ADVISED that in accordance with Colorado law, CRS 13-10-112 and S19-1-306, juveniles are eligible to have their case expunged if they complete their sentence, meaning all the requirements imposed by the judge. This includes Deferred Prosecutions and/or Deferred Judgments resulting in a DISMISSAL. Any information concerning a juvenile case that is expunged with our court will not be released.
Boulder Municipal Court cannot release any information on cases that are sealed with our court. If you were the defendant in a case and would like access to a record that has been sealed, please indicate that in the "Documents Requested" box when you submit the form above. Only defendants can request that their records be unsealed.
Boulder Municipal Court does not release case information on parking or photo enforcement violations.
Boulder Municipal Court is a separate entity from the Boulder County Court and your records request will not include any cases that may have been charged in the Boulder County Court system.
