Boulder police investigating a suspicious incident

On Aug. 28, Boulder police responded to Boulder Community Health after a 19-year-old female came to the Emergency Room believing that she may have been assaulted. The woman suffered a memory gap that lasted several hours, during which it is believed she was pepper sprayed.

The woman attempted to walk home after drinking with friends, but she got lost and disoriented. She was able to call a friend for help however they were unsuccessful in guiding her home. Friend’s then went out looking for the woman, but they were only able to locate her cell phone and one shoe near the roadway where they had tracked her phone.

The following timeline has been established for Aug. 28:

  • Approximately 12:30 a.m., the female was seen in the area of 10th Street and Cascade Avenue.
  • Approximately 2:39 a.m., the female was seen in the area of Broadway and Alpine Avenue.
  • Approximately 7:30a.m., the female woke up in a stranger’s apartment and was asked to leave. The apartment was in the area of Broadway and Cedar Avenue. There is no indication that anyone in the apartment had any interaction with the female prior to finding her that morning.

The woman is white, 5’06” tall, with brown hair, brown eyes and weighs 115 pounds. She was wearing a black hoodie, shorts and flip flops.

Investigators are currently waiting for lab reports to determine if the woman was sexually assaulted and if she ingested anything that would cause a memory gap.

Anyone who may have seen or had contact with this woman on Aug. 28 is asked to call Detective Darren Fladung at 303-441-4484.
