Boulder Volunteers Gave Over 23 Years Worth of Service in 2020

2019 Volunteer Appreciation

Our community has faced a mosaic of challenges this past year, but one thing has remained constant — the commitment of Boulder volunteers.

Overall, 2,600 people volunteered for the City of Boulder in 2020, giving over 48,000 hours of their time and energy. This is equivalent to someone working full-time for 23 years with no vacations.

From library services to park cleanup to care for people experiencing homelessness, City of Boulder volunteers helped in unforgettable ways. While departments had less volunteers than previous years, many volunteers gave more hours than in the past. This is a perfect example of how our community works together in difficult times.

In 2020, many community members weren't able to volunteer as they have before. Please know we appreciate you, too. We look forward to working with all of the city’s amazing volunteers in brighter days.

April 18 to 24 is National Volunteer Week, and we are so grateful for each and every volunteer. Volunteers bring so much help and heart to Boulder. We can't thank you enough for your continued dedication and service to this community.
