City Celebrates Winter Walk and Bike Week, Beginning Feb. 4
The City of Boulder encourages community members to walk and bike for all their daily trips during the 10th annual Winter Walk and Bike Week, Feb. 4 through 10
Events are scheduled throughout the week to inspire more people to embrace walking and biking as a healthy and sustainable way to travel in winter.
Wednesday, Feb. 6, 4 to 5 p.m.: Winter on Wheels – Wheelchair Experience and Library Scavenger Hunt
Join Topher Downham of the City’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Department and Craig Towler of Amputee Concierge to learn what it’s like navigating the city by wheelchair. Meets at the Main Library (Canyon Gallery entrance). Register to save your spot.
Friday, Feb. 8, 8 to 9 a.m.: Pearl Street Sip & Stroll with Vessel
Enjoy coffee at both ends of Pearl Street and breakfast in the middle as we stroll along with Boulder Walks and Vessel, Boulder’s innovative new answer to disposable coffee cup waste. Come learn about this new concept in reusable cups, get some free goodies and start your day in an active way! Meets at Boxcar Coffee Roasters. Register to save your spot.
Friday, Feb. 8: Winter Bike to Work Day
Boulder celebrates International Winter Bike to Work Day with a series of events, including:
- 7 to 9 a.m.: Free breakfast stations in Boulder and Boulder County. View a map of stations.
- 3 to 6 p.m. Winter Bike to Work Day celebration at Twisted Pine.
Community members can commit to riding on International Winter Bike to Work Day at winterbiketoworkday.org.
Saturday, Feb. 9, 8 to 9 a.m.: Walk with a Doc ‘Heart Health and Plant-Based Foods’
Join Boulder Community Health and the City of Boulder to walk with Dr. Nelson Trujillo of Boulder Heart and take a step toward better health. Location: Flatiron Crossing Mall, Food Court. More information at walkwithadoc.org.
Saturday, Feb. 9, 9 a.m. to 5:30 pm.: Longmont-to-Boulder (LoBo Trail) Choose Your Own Adventure Ramble
This 17-mile ramble offers beautiful views of the Front Range and plenty of sunshine while connecting Longmont, Niwot and Boulder. You can either opt in for the entire ramble of join us at any of four alternative starting points. Email [email protected] to RSVP with your chosen starting time and place.
