FAA hosts upcoming opportunities for community to share feedback about DIA aircraft routes

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently announced 11 Denver-area public information workshops in April and May to share information and collect feedback about proposed changes to airspace operations, including aircraft routes, that are part of the FAA’s Denver Metroplex project.

While not a participant in the study, the City of Boulder Municipal Airport staff is actively monitoring the project, and members of the Boulder community who are interested in Denver International Airport (DIA) aircraft routes and noise are encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting. The following meetings will be located in or near Boulder:

  • Wednesday, April 5, 6 to 8:30 p.m.: Erie Community Center, 450 Powers Street, Erie, CO 80516
  • Monday, April 17, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.: Boulder Library Main Branch, Boulder Creek Room, 1001 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO 80301
  • Tuesday, May 2, 6 to 8:30 p.m.: Rocky Mtn. Metro Airport, Mt. Evans Conference Room, 11755 Airport Way, Broomfield, CO 80021

Meetings are also scheduled to occur in Watkins, Aurora, Denver, Greenwood Village, Parker, Littleton, and Commerce City, with two in Denver.

The Denver Metroplex project seeks to improve the efficiency of airspace in the Denver area by optimizing aircraft arrival and departure procedures to and from various airports, including Denver International Airport, Centennial Airport, Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport, Buckley Air Force Base, Northern Colorado Regional Airport, Front Range Airport and Greeley-Weld County Airport. Denver is one of 12 Metroplex projects nationwide.
