New Boulder Area Trails App Details Hundreds of Local Trails

The Boulder Area Trails app provides access to trail information for 295 trailheads and 1,440 miles of trail in and around Boulder County.

It’s no secret Boulderites love to hike – and a new app makes it easy to find trail information in and around Boulder. The City of Boulder and 11 other agencies have created a mobile application available for iOS and Android. The app is designed to enable users to find trails by use or type, plan routes by connecting local community trails, and link to the appropriate agency websites for more information. people hiking on a trail near the Boulder flatirons

The Boulder Area Trails app features include:

  • One app for all area trails: Provides a single source for all designated public recreation trails and trailheads in and around Boulder and Broomfield counties.
  • Real-time trail closures: Trail closures are posted as soon as they are announced by each participating agency.
  • Offline maps: The app will continue to work even when there is no cellular service. Before you head out, be sure to hit the app’s refresh button at the bottom left while connected to a WiFi network to ensure you see all the trails!
  • Set favorites: Users can save favorite trails and trailheads for easy access.

City of Boulder and Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP)  regulations may differ from other agencies and municipalities that maintain open space trails. Please pre-plan your trip by reviewing city regulations to help our community members enjoy and protect their open spaces.
