Parent Engagement Events
Note: The City of Boulder Open Data Catalog will be migrating to a new platform in fall 2020. A link to the new dataset location is included here under 'Data and Resources'. Please bookmark https://open-data.bouldercolorado.gov/ as the future site of Boulder Open Data.
This dataset contains summary information about each of the Human Services Department's parent engagement workshops provided by the Family Resource Schools (FRS) program. Data includes workshop name, date, location, attendance and language offered.
The FRS program provides opportunities for parent engagement, leadership and education at five Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) elementary schools within the City of Boulder. As parent participation is critical to student academic achievement, FRS offers events on adult literacy, family health and wellness, cultural competency, computer skills and other topics. These workshops help parents or guardians support their student’s academic success and promote family stability. Offerings are based on requests from the school community, evidence-based practices for academic success and family stability and are aligned with BVSD’s strategies for parent involvement and leadership.
