South Boulder Creek Trail (1.5 mile between Baseline & South Boulder roads). ( 2.0 mile between South Boulder Rd & Marshall roads). This trail meanders southward along the riparian (stream side) corridor and is highlighted by self-guided interpretive displays. This area affords seasonal viewing of the bobolink, for which the trailhead was named, and other ground nesting birds. At South Boulder Road, the trail continues through an underpass then turns westward paralleling the road for approximately 0.2 miles before heading south along the creek once more. The trail meets Marshall Road at its southern end. Please note that dogs are not allowed south of the gate where the trail follows the stream south of South Boulder Road. This trail is sport chair accessible from the trailhead to the East Boulder Community Center turn off and south of South Boulder Road. North of the trailhead you may cross Baseline and via Gaptor Road connect to the Centennial Trail which is a hard surface trail.

Bicycles are allowed on the paved Greenways section of trail, and may continue south along South Boulder Creek trail past the East Boulder Community Center trail connection, all the way to Marshall Road. However, bikes are not allowed on the unpaved pedestrian section of South Boulder Creek Trail that parallels the creek through the trees between Baseline Road and the East Boulder Community Center trail connection. Learn about bringing your dog to OSMP. All dogs must be leashed in the Trailhead Leash Area. Dogs are not allowed on the South Boulder Creek Trail south of South Boulder Road to Marshall Road. North of South Boulder Road and on the trail paralleling South Boulder Road, dogs must be on a hand-held leash at all times unless they meet the voice and sight control standard and display a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. Horses are allowed on most trails. On-trail riding is encouraged to protect rare plants and wildlife habitat. Popular areas for horseback riding.
White-tailed and mule deer are common; watch for hybrids. Bobolinks and other ground nesting birds live in the field east of the trail from mid-May through the summer. Please stay on the trail so the birds can display and nest without disturbance. Red-tailed hawks, foxes and coyotes are sometimes seen.
