Nature Hikes and Programs

Nature Hikes and Programs

Natural Selections is our ongoing series of educational nature programs on topics including ecology, wildlife, local history, night hikes, field workshops with local artists, star-gazing, children’s programs, plus many more. All programs are free and open to the public. Please do not bring dogs except for special dog-guardian hikes.

Do you want Natural Selections sent to you by email?  Follow this link to join our mailing list! Select "Natural Selections" from the drop down list. You will receive a weekly notice about upcoming programs. We will not share your email address or send you spam!

Visit the new Environmental Education Virtual Learning Database. It contains high quality, largely bilingual content from organizations like ours from across the state. You can search by grade, subject, topic and more! Plus, all content is designed to be easily shared with students learning at home.

Visit the database.

Teachers, scout troops and community groups can obtain free individual programs from Open Space and Mountain Parks naturalists, visit the  Request an Environmental Education Program page to learn more.

Covid-19 Update - Sept. 24, 2020

The Boulder County public health order issued Sept. 24 requires all individuals age 18 to 22 in Boulder to halt gatherings. This order is intended to slow the rate of new COVID-19 cases, which have seen a recent spike in our area. We were torn about this decision, and while we greatly appreciate your interest in our programs, if you are in this age group or live at one of the residences under the stay-at-home order, you must not attend our programs.

If you are registered for any programs below, we ask that you please cancel your event registration as soon as possible if you are:

  • 18 to 22 years old;
  • live at one of the residences under a stay-at-home order; or
  • have decided not to attend due to the coronavirus.

Please email [email protected] to remove your registration for a program so we can give your spaces to someone else.
