Nature Hikes and Programs

COVID 19 cancellations: All OSMP public programs, including Voice and Sight Tag Program education classes and nature hikes are suspended until further notice. Learn more about city-related COVID19 closures.  Other OSMP-related closures can be viewed at OSMP.org.

Even though we are all staying home, nature goes on outside every day! Just look out your window, or go for a walk in your neighborhood (remember to stay 6 feet away from people not in your family!) Do you have questions about what you see?  Or do you want to know about the plants, animals, rocks, or history of Open Space and Mountain Parks? Send your questions to Coyote Bob. He is a one-coyote encyclopedia of far-out facts, intriguing information and detailed data about the Boulder Valley.  ¡Y Coyote Bob habla español también!

Natural Selections is our ongoing series of educational nature programs on topics including ecology, wildlife, local history, night hikes, field workshops with local artists, star-gazing, children’s programs, plus many more. All programs are free and open to the public. Please do not bring dogs except for special dog-guardian hikes.

Do you want Natural Selections sent to you by email?  Follow this link to join our mailing list! Select "Natural Selections" from the drop down list. You will receive a weekly notice about upcoming programs. We will not share your email address or send you spam!

Teachers, scout troops and community groups can obtain free individual programs from Open Space and Mountain Parks naturalists, visit the  Request an Environmental Education Program page to learn more.
