Nature Hikes and Programs

Natural Selections is our ongoing series of educational nature programs on topics including ecology, wildlife, local history, night hikes, field workshops with local artists, star-gazing, children’s programs, plus many more. All programs are free and open to the public. Please do not bring dogs except for special dog-guardian hikes.

Teachers, scout troops and community groups can obtain free individual programs from Open Space and Mountain Parks naturalists, visit the  Request an Environmental Education Program page to learn more.

Welcoming Spring: Community Fire and Gathering

@ 2 to 5:30 p.m.

Share the joys of spring and new beginnings with an afternoon of stories, song, hiking, and friendship, enhanced by the warmth of a fire. All ages welcome!

Wings of Spring: Waterfowl Watching

@ 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.

An early morning hike around Sawhill Ponds to spy on migrating ducks and waterfowl. Birders of all abilities welcome. ~
