Rattlesnakes, Rarities and Railroads

Rattlesnakes, Rarities and Railroads
Fri. May 4, 9 a.m. - noon
Rattlesnakes, rare plants, prairie dogs and water create a complex window into the cultural and geologic past of north Boulder. Travel softly into this fragile haven with geologist Sue Hirschfeld, Prairie ecologist Lynn Riedel and naturalist Lynne Sullivan. Meet at North Foothills Trailhead ( https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/foothills-trailhead ) on Hwy 36. Going north out of Boulder, turn right (east) 0.4 miles after the intersection of N. Broadway and Hwy 36 (28th St), just south of the cement factory. Take the dirt road to the parking lot on your left.

*** Please check this website the morning of the program, to ensure that the North Foothills trail has not been closed due to muddy conditions. Click on the trail for information. Current up-to-date trail mclosures/openings: https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/temporary-closures

Boots and jeans are recommended due to the frequency of rattlesnake sightings, along with snacks and water.
