The Secret of Wind and Birds

The Secret of Wind and Birds
Sunday October 28, 8:30 - 11 a.m.
Saturday November 3, 8:30 - 11 a.m.

At their November concert, the Boulder Philharmonic will play composer Tan Dun’s intriguing work Passacaglia: Secret of Wind and Birds. Throughout the piece, the orchestra emulates the sounds of the wind, the ocean and bird songs in surprising ways! Join City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks naturalist Dave Sutherland for a pre-concert hike to explore this imaginative music, as well as other composers who have captured the essence of wind, water and birds. Meet at the East Boulder Community Center.

The Boulder Philharmonic concert will be performed in Macky Auditorium on the CU campus at 7 p.m. on Nov. 4. For more information and tickets, please visit http://boulderphil.org/index.php/season-overview/

The theme of the Boulder Philharmonic’s 2018-19 season is  Open Space , drawing on Boulder’s iconic natural surroundings to offer extraordinary music. What better way to reflect Boulder’s history, our care for this land, and the beauty we find here? This season’s concerts will explore expansive new spaces and help us rediscover places we loved long ago.
