Other Youth Program Opportunities

We are fortunate in the Boulder area to have many ways to get involved with outdoor learning and service! Here are a few links to fuel your interest.

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado: Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is a statewide nonprofit volunteer organization whose mission is to motivate and enable citizens to be active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources.

Wildland Restoration Volunteers: As part of WRV’s mission to build community and provide venues for volunteer stewardship, WRV is committed to inspiring the next generation of land stewards. As such, there are opportunities for youth involvement at multiple levels within WRV.

Lefthand Outdoor Challenge: Through demonstration and hands-on application of resource management techniques, participants will be able to apply sound environmental stewardship practices through service learning, environmental education, leadership development, and challenging outdoor activities.

Boulder County Youth Corps: The Youth Corps provides opportunities for Boulder County teens to develop a sense of community involvement through personal accomplishment, teamwork and service to the county. Since 1996, participants, aged 14-17, have been completing projects for Boulder County departments, municipalities and towns.

OSMP volunteer programs: Volunteer on individual projects on City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks!

Cottonwood Institute: The Cottonwood Institute was founded in 2004 to inspire young people to initiate positive change in their schools, their communities, and the environment in order to strengthen their civic engagement, environmental stewardship, and leadership skills.

Growing Gardens ¡Cultiva! Youth Project: Youth invest their time and energy in organic gardening and giving back to the community while developing their leadership and job skills.

City of Boulder Youth Opportunities Program: The Youth Opportunities Program is a leadership and grant-making program for City of Boulder youth. The program promotes youth civic engagement and leadership development, organizes community events, and provides technical and financial assistance to youth-serving organizations.

CU Science Discovery: Science Discovery provides opportunities to explore science in the world's best laboratory - the great outdoors!

Keystone Science School: Since 1976, Keystone Science School has taught scientific principles and leadership skills to young people, teachers, and community members through engaging hands-on field experiences.
