Boulder Airport Day and Open House
Saturday, June 18, 2016, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Airport Day is a free event held on even years that features a wide variety of aircraft on display, including:
- World War II
- and more
Visitors may climb inside most of the aircraft and vehicles, talk to the operators, and take pictures. This family-friendly event will also include activities for children, food vendors, gift shops and the opportunity to purchase rides in a helicopter.
The Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum sponsors a special activities area called "KidSpace." This free area allows children to build model rockets and balsa wood airplanes, as well as try their hands in a flight simulator.
1940s World War II Ball
This USO-style ball provides an opportunity to travel back in time with 1940s swing bands, dancing, Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope impersonators, World War II aircraft, and much more. World War II-era attire, 1940‘s party dresses or uniform is strongly encouraged.
Call 720-924-1945 or visit for tickets and more information.
The ball is presented by the 1940s Ball nonprofit group, with a percentage of proceeds donated to the Wounded Warriors Project and the Spirit of Flight Center.
