2018 Community Survey kicks off this week
Your voice matters! The City of Boulder launched the 2018 Community Survey on Sept. 13 to ask residents about their priorities for the city, quality of life and their overall satisfaction with government services. Six thousand households will be randomly selected to participate in the community survey.
Boulder-based National Research Center Inc., the organization conducting the survey, is working with the city to gather residents’ input on issues facing the community. The survey results will help City Council make decisions that affect the community and will provide crucial information to help Boulder provide the best services possible.
If you are randomly selected to participate this year, the city is asking that you complete the survey right away and send it to National Research Center. Participants have the option of completing the paper survey and returning it in a postage-paid envelope or completing the survey online.
Survey questions will be available in English or Spanish, and all responses will remain completely anonymous; none of your answers can be linked to who you are. Responses will be reported in summary form only.
This year’s survey utilizes the National Citizen Survey conducted by National Research Center and includes a limited number of Boulder-specific questions. The survey will continue trend data for questions asked by Boulder since the mid-1980s.
The survey analysis and results will be included in a report submitted to the City Council this winter. The report will be available on the city’s website at www.bouldercolorado.gov, and printed copies also will be available at the Main Library or any branch for the public to read.
Boulder conducts the Community Survey every few years and last conducted a community survey in 2016. That survey informed City Council on issues such as transportation, city planning, affordable housing, public safety and quality of life issues.
