Climate Commitment/Energy Codes Open House With Joint Boards

Climate Commitment/Energy Codes Open House
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art
6:00 – 7:00 PM Climate Commitment
7:00 – 8:30 PM Energy Codes

Please join the City of Boulder and its advisory boards to provide input and feedback on two closely related items - the draft Climate Commitment, and the long term strategy for updating the city’s energy codes, which includes the pathway to net zero energy codes.

The city’s accelerated building energy productivity requirements –  directed through the adoption and implementation of building and energy codes – play an important role in achieving the city’s new Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions reduction goals.

The first hour (6 – 7 PM) will focus on Boulder's Climate Commitment, and the last hour and a half (7 – 8:30 PM) will focus on the long term strategy and short term updates for the city’s energy codes. This latter portion will also be open to other impacted stakeholders, such as building industry professionals (design professionals, general contractors, developers, etc) and will provide an opportunity to give feedback and input on the strategic direction, objectives, and scope of near and long term energy code updates, prior to a tentatively scheduled July 2016, City Council Study Session.
