Community assistance needed with a sexual assault investigation

Boulder police are investigating a sexual assault that occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., on Sept. 14, inside an apartment located at 1200 College Ave.

The victim woke up to a man in her bed that was attempting to have sex with her. The victim was able to get the suspect to leave and contacted police.

The suspect is described as a light skinned black male. At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a white t-shirt with an unknown logo and khaki pants. Police are working with the victim to create a composite sketch of the suspect which will be released as soon as it is completed.

Police believe that the suspect entered the apartment through an unlocked door.

Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous may contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Tips may also be submitted through the Crime Stoppers website at crimeshurt.com. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest and filing of charges on a suspect(s) may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers.
