Park Shelter Update
January 2018 Update
The poles for the shade sail structure have been installed. The sails will be installed in the spring and removed seasonally each year.
Additional concrete will be poured around the poles on the south side to extend the patio and properly cover the footers. The center pole on the north side with the concrete ring will be filled with concrete at the same time. This concrete work should happen in the next few weeks, weather permitting.
The other 2 poles in the playground will have the poured in place rubber surfacing replaced once the weather is warm enough for the material to cure. An early spring installation is anticipated. In the meantime, the holes are filled with engineered wood fiber.
The irrigation and turf will be repaired in the summer when the irrigation is back on. Plants on either side of the patio will be replaced in the spring. Two of the footers for the poles are now in the beds. Staff will plant accordingly and fill with wood fiber to cover the footers.
September 2017 Update
Construction of a shade sail structure at Holiday Park will begin the week of Sept. 11th. The playground and surrounding areas will be closed throughout construction for safety. We will leave as much of the park open as possible for your use. Construction is anticipated to be complete by the end of the month.
February 2017 Update
As part of the 2014 Construction and Maintenance License Agreement for Holiday Neighborhood Park, the department intends to install a shade sail structure within the park, adjacent to existing playground amenities. Staff met with the Holiday Neighborhood Master HOA Board on April 13, 2016 as a first step in the process. The concept plan presented to the community at the annual Holiday Neighborhood Master HOA meeting on Jan. 11, 2017 was met with enthusiastic support from the attendees and board members.
Nature Play Opportunities
Holiday Park’s playground provides several climbing structures that resemble natural features, creating a structured play environment that emulates nature in a condensed housing area.
