Assistant City Manager and Director of Community Vitality
Yvette Bowden is Assistant City Manager and Director of Community Vitality for the City of Boulder, Colorado. In this capacity, she establishes a vision for, leads, and manages municipal Community Vitality functions positively contributing to local livability and sustainability of local quality of life improving the city’s connectivity and inclusivity in economic, cultural and social climates. Along with the city manager, Yvette is the city’s principal liaison with the business and nonprofit communities maintaining the positive relationships that contribute to a vital economy, excellent quality of life and the renowned Boulder brand.
Yvette first joined the city in 2014 and previously acted as the Director of two city departments. Prior to joining the city, Yvette held senior leadership positions in the nonprofit and for-profit sectors addressing issues of strategy, community engagement, public-private partnerships, law, fundraising and global inclusion. She holds business and juris doctorate degrees from Pace University Lubin School of Business and the School of Law, was a member of the 2012 Class of the Urban Land Institute Center of Excellence, completed the LEAD program at the University of Virginia, and has served on several national organization Boards of Directors.
