Fourmile Canyon Creek Improvements: 19th to Broadway

This project is partially funded through the renewal of the 2017 Community, Culture and Safety (CCS) Tax.

Project Description

The underpass project on Fourmile Canyon Creek and 19th Street is intended to improve safety and accessibility to Crest View Elementary School, and create additional flood capacity under the roadway. The project team is coordinating improvements with the Capital Projects workgroup, which is leading design for the 19th Street Multimodal Improvements Project, expected to begin construction the end of 2021/early 2022.

Total cost: $12,100,000

Amount funded through CCS tax: $3,500,000

A Community & Environmental Assessment Process Report was completed in June 2016, including public outreach. The city has hired a consultant to complete a design for the improvements for this area. Preliminary design is currently underway, and final design is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2021, with a 2-year construction period to follow.
