Pollinator Appreciation Month offers kids a whole variety of fun ways to learn about the beauty and importance of bees, butterflies and other pollinators. All events are free for the entire family. 

 

Third Annual Bee Boulder Family Festival!

 

 

Saturday, Sept. 23  ♦ 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ♦  Central Park

The Bee Boulder Family Festival is filled with educational activities, live music, stilt-walkers, face painting, prizes and fun. Join us this year for two  special performances by Jeff & Paige at  10-10:45 a.m. and 11-11:45 a.m.

Pollinator Field Journals

 

Discover the pollinators all around you. Make a hand-bound journal to track pollinators and jot down your observations! Ages 7 to adult.  Registration recommended as space is limited.

Tiny Bee and Bee House: Spellbinders Storytelling

Celebrate pollinators with stories and bee house crafting. Enjoy Spellbinders Oral Storytellers perform special bee stories. Build a native bee house to support solitary nesting bees with local BeeChica, Tracy Bellehumeur. Ages 8 and under require adult assistance.  Learn more.

Young Scientists Make Beeswax Candles

Learn about how beeswax is made and create molded and rolled beeswax candles. For grades 2-8.  Learn more.

Make and Spread Seed Bombs

Make seed bombs and learn why planting more flowers is important to bees. Spread some native wildflowers seeds in your neighborhood and become a guerrilla gardener. Saturday, Sept. 16, 11 to12 p.m. at Reynolds
