Food Tax Rebate Program
City of Boulder Food Tax Rebate Applications Available March 1 through June 30, 2018.
Each year, the City of Boulder provides rebates to help compensate residents with lower incomes for the city sales tax they pay on food. Those seeking a rebate must fill out an application documenting their eligibility. Applications can be picked up starting March 1, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the West Boulder Senior Center, 909 Arapahoe Avenue. .Application forms must be received in person by June 29, 2018 or postmarked by June 30, 2018. Applicants from 2017 will automatically receive an application in the mail.
To be eligible to receive a refund, applicants must meet financial eligibility guidelines, have been a resident of Boulder for the entire 2017 calendar year, and be:
- age 62 or over for the entire 2017 calendar year; or
- a person with a disability; or
- a family with children under 18 years of age in the household for the entire 2017 calendar year;
Rebates will be $83 for individuals and $253 for families. This program addresses the Economic Mobility and Resilience focus of the Human Services Strategy, specifically to expand financial support programs that enhance economic stability, and is administered by Boulder Senior Services.
