West Senior Center Hosts Art Exhibit
Hanging Out Together is an art project from the Round Robin Art Journal group that meets regularly at the West Senior Center. It is a volunteer cooperative group that uses informal art journaling to explore topics, share ideas, and have stimulating conversations.
The media used in this exhibit is paper bag booklets enhanced with collage, sketching, photos, textiles, or whatever the participants want to use to illustrate the topics and their reactions to it.
The group meets weekly and randomly picks a topic from suggested words. One person starts a journal using the first pages, and then passes it to a new person for a new topic the next week. It goes home with the originator when it is full. At the meetings, participants briefly share their work and enjoy each other’s reactions. Round Robin Art Journal meets on Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the West Senior Center. There is no charge to join the group but participants must register.
