Enhancing Fire Safety in the Community

Community Risk Reduction enhances fire safety and life safety in the community, primarily through the development and enforcement of the Fire Code.

What does Community Risk Reduction do?

  • Inspects new and existing buildings for Fire Code compliance
  • Gives general and technical information to property owners, facility managers, contractors and the public on Fire Code requirements
  • Enhances public safety through fire safety educational activities in schools, homes and businesses
  • Investigates the causes of fires and related incidents and works with law enforcement officials to reduce the incidence of arson in the community

Staffing: Chief Fire Marshal, Assistant Fire Marshal, Fire Inspector, Fire Protection Engineer, Life Safety Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant.
