South Boulder Road and Manhattan Drive Intersection Improvements
This project enhances safety and access for students walking, biking, or riding the bus to the Manhattan School of Arts and Academics, as well as other travelers in the area.
Access and Safety Improvements
- Installation of a traffic signal, pedestrian count-down signals, marked crosswalks, and curb extensions neckdowns to reduce the crossing distance across Manhattan Drive.
- Enhancements to eastbound transit stop. Westbound stop to be completed by Boulder County
- Completion of a missing sidewalk link to the transit stop on the south side.
A separate project to construct a new multi-use path connection along the south side of Table Mesa Drive between the RTD Park-n-Ride and Manhattan Circle was previously completed with funds from the 2011 Capital Improvement Bond.
Before and After Photos
Planning and design began in spring 2013 and a public meeting was held on May 16, 2013 to share the conceptual design with the community for feedback.
