In 2022 and 2023, the Office of Arts and Culture's Experiments in Public Art program worked with accelerator Farm to Spaceship to bring unique temporary art to Boulder.
This project, conceived by Heather Schulte and entitled "Stitching the Situation," invited community members to embroider a visual story of the pandemic and its effect on our community. Schulte hoped that the project would connect local people suffering adverse effects of the pandemic with illustrators, designers, and artists to create visual images of their experiences to be stitched into a visual format.
The piece was part of the Office of Arts and Culture's Experiments in Public Art program. We partnered with Farm to Spaceship, a local accelerator program "that pairs local artists, designers, foodies, scientists, businesses, entrepreneurs, engineers, and community leaders to develop experiential offerings that are good for the community and exciting to customers."
