Fund supports programs that enable all Boulder community members to thrive.

The City of Boulder has released the Human Services Fund (HSF) 2024 Request for Proposals for community-based human services programs.

The city anticipates awarding $1.9 million in funding in 2024 to qualified community organizations through a competitive application process. HSF provides programmatic funding in areas such as increased economic stability, mobility and resilience; increased ability for people to obtain and maintain housing; safe environments for people with diverse identities; increased positive physical, mental or behavioral health and wellbeing, and increased healthy behaviors. This work and the application process are a collaborative effort between City of Boulder, City of Longmont and Boulder County Community Services, and new for this fund round, City of Lafayette.

Past and current HSF grants benefitting low-income community members include those for academic support, early child development and childcare, health care, legal services for immigrants and domestic violence survivors, programs for LGBTQ community members and older adult services. Additional information about past HSF grant recipients can be found on the city’s new Competitive Grants dashboard.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Sept. 12, 2023, and must be submitted electronically using the Foundant grant management system. No paper or late applications will be accepted. To apply for the 2024 fund round, visit the Human Services Fund webpage. The Request for Proposals document contains a registration link for an HSF applicant informational webinar taking place on Tuesday, July 25 at 10 a.m.

Applications from organizations that serve and are led by historically excluded populations are encouraged to apply.
