The Boulder Police Department is investigating a fatal altercation that occurred last night and is asking for the public’s help.

At approximately 10:35 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, officers received a call for an altercation in the 700 block of Arapahoe Avenue. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and began rendering medical aid until the adult male was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will identify the decedent and notify the next of kin as well as determine the official cause and manner of death.

Officers and detectives have identified the person responsible in this incident and there is no threat to the community.

Boulder Police detectives are asking for the public’s help regarding the altercation that occurred between this male and other adult males as well as the events leading up to it. Detectives would like to speak to anyone who saw a white male with a full beard, approximately 5’10”, wearing a suit jacket, pants and a white button-down shirt with no tie in the area of 9th Street between Pearl and Arapahoe between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. yesterday. This is the male who later died at the hospital.

Detectives are also looking for surveillance or Ring video related to this male or these events as well as anyone who witnessed the altercation in the 700 block of Arapahoe Avenue.
