Missing Community Member Found
BOULDER, Colo. – Boulder Police are thankful that a missing community member was found this morning after a tireless overnight search for her.
Just before 7 a.m. today, May 29, a runner found Roberta, 77, who had fallen from her mobility scooter into a ditch off of a Boulder County trail. The runner, who had seen our social media post, called Boulder County Parks and Open Space who notified Boulder Police. Roberta was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Though Roberta regularly uses her electric assisted tricycle, family members became concerned when she did not returned by 5:30 p.m. yesterday. Family and officers were worried about her lack of familiarity with the area as well as the severe weather and called police.
“I’m incredibly grateful that Roberta will be okay and I’m thankful for all of the hard work from both everyone in our agency—Patrol, Detectives, the Emergency Response Team, our Unmanned Aircraft System team, and many more—as well as all our outside agency partners who helped bring this to a successful conclusion,” Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfearn said.
The agencies who helped with this investigation include the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks department, Front Range Rescue Dogs, Boulder Emergency Squad, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, and Search and Rescue Dogs of the United States.
