Boulder Fire-Rescue responded to a structure fire today where one victim was found and pronounced dead at the scene.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. today, Boulder Fire-Rescue responded to a house fire on the 2800 block of Dartmouth Avenue. While conducting their preliminary search of the home, firefighters found an adult male in the basement and rapidly rescued him from the home. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters continued to search the home and extinguished the fire. There were no other injuries or fatalities in this fire and the fire was contained to the one house. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Information regarding the victim and the cause of their death will be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office.
Boulder Fire-Rescue Fire Chief Michael Calderazzo stated, “Boulder Fire-Rescue firefighters did an excellent job today responding to this fire. Their skills and expertise were evident today with the safe, effective, and swift response. We send our condolences to the friends and family of the victim.”
