Thank you to everyone who attended this special performance by the Cantabile Singers and the Boulder Bassoon Quartet as part of this year's Arts in the Park series.
The program featured a rich and varied selection of music, including Three Earth Songs by Boulder composer Bill Douglas, performed for chorus and bassoon quartet. The event also included the premiere of a brand-new work by Greg Simon, a CU Boulder alumnus, offering a powerful and fresh contribution to the contemporary choral repertoire.
We are grateful to Cantabile and all of the performers who made this event a success, and to the community for your continued support of local music and the arts.
Thank you so much for joining us on Sunday, June 22 at Glen Huntington Bandshell to celebrate the summer solstice with The Mariposa Collective! Your energy, creativity, and support made the night truly magical — from hands-on fun to impromptu dance and unforgettable live performances.
Whether you crafted jewelry, painted faces, embraced the stage in dance improv, or simply shared the evening with friends under the sky, you helped bring this joyful community gathering to life. We were honored to present original music by James Hoskins, Jesse Manno, and Tober Shcorr, alongside mesmerizing dance and puppetry from Nosilla Dance Project, Now or Never Theater, Celia Grannum Pararnaud, Elizabeth Pond, Shreya Venkatesh, and our very own Mariposa Collective choreographers and dancers.
We hope the event inspired you as much as your presence inspired us. The Mariposa Collective remains dedicated to fostering artistic dialogue and cultural connection across our region, and we can’t wait to welcome you at our next celebration of creativity, community, and performance.
Stay tuned for upcoming events, and thank you again for being part of our summer solstice celebration!
