This open house is an opportunity to foster healthy relationships between community youth and law enforcement.

The Youth Opportunities Advisory Board and Boulder Police Department invite Boulder youth, aged 13 to 18, to participate in an open house on Monday, March 30 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boulder Police Department located at 1805 33rd Street.
This event supports the City of Boulder’s Child Friendly Cities Initiative by providing an opportunity to foster relationship-building between youth and police officers and facilitate conversations about young people’s experiences with public safety.
Youth will tour the police station and dispatch centers. They will hear first-hand from 911 dispatchers about how calls are handled when they come in. They will see where detectives work, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects during investigations. Youth and Officers and will participate in a Q&A session to further their understanding of local law enforcement and to deepen Officers’ understanding of public safety issues that are important to youth in Boulder. Dinner will be provided.
Interested youth are encouraged to RSVP through the city’s form.
“We hope many young people will come and learn more about policing in Boulder and how our department works. Bring your questions, your curiosity, and bring a friend!” said Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn.
