Each year, Women's History Month offers an important opportunity for us to shine a light on the extraordinary legacy of trailblazing women and girls who have built, shaped, and improved upon our community.

March is Women's History Month

Boulder City Council declared March 2025 as Women’s History Month and invite the community to join them in the celebration of all women and the progress we have made as a society, as well as reflect on the work still ahead to reach full gender equality.

Celebrating the Boulder Women Who Educate and Inspire Generations

This year, the National Women’s History Alliance, which spearheaded the movement for March being declared National Women’s History Month, proclaimed that the theme for 2025 is “Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations.” To honor this theme, the city has compiled a list of some of the women who have dedicated their lives to education, mentorship, and leadership.

Boulder Women in Architecture and Design

Architecture has historically been a male-dominated field – today, only about a quarter of architects in the United States are women. This Women’s History Month, we are celebrating the women who left their mark on Boulder’s buildings and distinguished themselves in the field of architecture.
