The City of Boulder invites community members to help honor local veterans by volunteering to place wreaths or sponsoring a wreath of remembrance for every hero laid to rest at Columbia Cemetery.

Community members can get involved by volunteering during the local ceremony or donating to help fund 296 sponsored wreaths, ensuring each veteran laid to rest at the cemetery is honored this year. For every wreath sponsored, PLAY Boulder Foundation will receive $5.00 to support future conservation efforts at Columbia Cemetery.

Those interested in volunteering or contributing are encouraged to visit the official Wreaths Across America and Boulder Parks and Recreation donation page.

“This effort is a meaningful way for our community to come together in gratitude and remembrance. By caring for Columbia Cemetery and honoring those who served, we strengthen our shared connection to Boulder’s history and to one another,” said Ali Rhodes, Director of Parks and Recreation.

Wreaths Across America is a national nonprofit that began as a simple gesture of gratitude and has grown into a year-round movement uniting communities across the country. The program’s mission is to Remember the fallen, Honor those who serve and Teach the next generation the value of freedom.
