Man Arrested on Burglary, Invasion of Privacy, Sexual Exploitation and Stalking Charges
BOULDER, Colo. – After a monthslong investigation, Boulder Police detectives identified and charged a man with multiple crimes related to several peeping incidents in the city.
Detectives believe these crimes occurred between February 2024 and August 2026 at different locations in downtown Boulder. A recent tip helped detectives identify a possible suspect, and further investigation identified new photographic evidence and additional victims.
Several of the victims in this case were unaware the suspect had watched them, until they were contacted by police.
While searching the suspect’s electronics, police found suspected child pornography he appears to have downloaded from the internet. Though the suspect is a former Boulder Valley School District employee, detectives do not have any information at this time to indicate any of the victims were students. However, this investigation is ongoing and detectives are working closely with BVSD and the District Attorney’s Office and additional charges are possible.
The suspect, David A. Wise, 34, of Boulder, surrendered to the Boulder County jail this afternoon where he was booked on the below charges:
- 10 misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy for sexual gratification,
- Two felony counts of stalking,
- One felony count of sexual exploitation of a child, and,
- One felony count of second-degree burglary.
Detectives do believe there could be additional victims and ask anyone with any information about this investigation to contact Detective J. Brown at BrownJ1@bouldercolorado.gov or 303-413-7330 regarding case 2604656.
As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
