National Night Out to Bring Neighbors Together with Police and Fire Departments
BOULDER, Colo. – All are invited to join your first responders for the annual National Night Out on August 2! National Night Out (NNO) 2022 is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2, and we invite all of Boulder's neighborhoods to take part and host a gathering in your neighborhood.
NNO is an annual event that helps to build camaraderie and allows for meaningful conversations in a casual setting while bringing back a true sense of community. Even better, it provides a time to bring together police and neighbors under positive circumstances.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity for our community to get to know their neighbors and their neighborhood officers,” Chief Maris Herold said. “Many times, our community members only meet law enforcement when they’re a victim of a crime, but during this event, we’re able to talk with our community members, hear their public safety questions and really get to know them, which is one of the best parts of our job.”
Please register your NNO event on our website so we can stop by! In addition to a visit from members of the police, fire and open space and mountain parks departments, City Council members will stop by for a visit if you wish.
Neighborhood Services is happy to support National Night Out with reimbursement grants for up to $300 for party expenses. Registered parties will receive more information about applying for reimbursement.
Registration is open now through July 26th.
National Night Out started in 1984 and has since swept across the nation. It is an annual event in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide, involving more than 15,000 communities and 37 million volunteers, residents and civil servants.
