Identifying additional victims or witnesses is critical to moving this investigation forward.
BOULDER, Colo. — The Boulder Police Department is investigating allegations of sexual assault and suspected drugging involving intoxicated underage females that may have occurred at Scrooge Sul, a bar located at 1149 13th Street in Boulder. The establishment is currently temporarily closed. Detectives believe there may be additional victims or witnesses in the community who have not yet come forward.
The Boulder Police Department takes allegations of sexual assault with the utmost seriousness. “The safety and well-being of potential victims is the department's highest priority, and no underage victim or witness who was intoxicated will be penalized for coming forward with information related to this investigation,” said Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn. “We want to hear from victims and witnesses so we can thoroughly investigate these allegations and ensure future sexual assaults are prevented.”
At this stage, police detectives are actively pursuing investigative leads. Detectives are unable to release the name of the suspect at this time, and there have been no arrests. This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Identifying additional victims or witnesses is critical to moving this investigation forward.
“We have taken these reports very seriously and have been diligently investigating,” said Boulder Police Department Commander Brannon Winn. “Detectives are working closely with business and community partners to identify any safety concerns and prevent further incidents. While we cannot discuss specific investigative tactics, public safety remains our top priority, and we are continuing to take appropriate steps as additional information develops.”
