A portion of the Open Space and Mountain Parks Andrus property is available for agricultural use. This 9-acre portion is located north of Andrus road between 61st and 63rd Streets.
The department has elected to pursue a negotiated assignment of the apple orchard to Eric Johnson / Wide Spread Malus. The proposed assignment of a portion of this Andrus field is intended to continue maintenance of the 10-year-old apple orchard on the property, of which Wide Spread Malus has been actively involved since its establishment. The remainder of the property will be used by the department for native seed increases or other programmatic needs.
You have the right to appeal staff’s recommendation to assign the Andrus property. You must do so in writing within five business days after the notice of property assignment is posted on the city website. All written appeals shall be delivered via e-mail to OSMPAgLeasing@bouldercolorado.gov. An appeal of the choice of assignment method shall briefly and succinctly state the reason why the decision is not consistent with the current OSMP guidelines (Agricultural Land Use Assignment Guidelines).
