Project Overview

Boulder Reservoir will get an upgrade to one of its access ramps and floating docks.

The Parks Planning and Reservoir teams are working with a local contractor on installing a floating dock with an E-Z launch to allow for easier access to the water and transfer from the dock into human-powered watercraft like kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, etc.

Key Improvements

  • Accessible concrete path from the parking lot at Rocky Mountain Paddleboard to the water
  • Floating dock with E-Z Launch and transfer station
  • More shade with additional tree plantings
  • New boulder retaining walls to limit erosion along the shore and beach
  • Additional plantings to create meaningful wetland habitat

Construction will start once the Boulder Reservoir wraps up the busy season right around Labor Day 2025.

We anticipate a small section of the parking lot to be used for construction staging and the existing dock, ramp and landscape adjacent to Rocky Mountain Paddleboard will need to be closed during the time of construction.

We are looking forward to making the Boulder Reservoir accessible to even more users with these improvements and thank you for your patience during construction.
