Older Adult Services Case Managers

Case Managers assist City of Boulder residents 60+ and their caregivers with information and assistance, referrals and options counseling for community resources, short-term case management, and financial assistance for eligible clients. Drop-in hours for the Older Adult Services Case Managers at the West Age Well Center are Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. Check in at the front desk no later than 1:15 p.m. to be seen. Community Protection Division Drop-in Office Hours

Drop-In | WEST | Mondays, September 8, October 13, November 3, and December 1 | 10:30 a.m. - noon | No Fee
The Community Protection Division of the Boulder County District Attorney can answer questions and concerns about disputes between individual consumers and businesses, including various types of scams. Older adults can meet with a Community Protection Specialist once a month for 15-30 minutes to discuss personal situations and ask questions. The Community Protection Specialist is not able to answer legal questions or provide legal advice. Drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers must check in at front desk.

TALK LIFE: Drop-In Coaching Information Table for Advance Care Planning

The Conversation Project in Boulder County (TCPBC) can assist with advance care planning through confidential, free coaching. Many people wait for a health crisis to have a conversation about end-of-life wishes. TCPBC advocates for conversations to start early and be revisited often. TCPBC coaches are knowledgeable in advance directives and resources to communicate personal considerations and compassionate end-of-life planning. Conversations about Death

Join end-of-life educators Diane Hullet and Margaret Kane on 4th Tuesdays for an open-ended conversation about death, dying and the end of life. Confidentiality and respectful discussion are the hallmarks of this monthly online program, bring curiosity, concerns, and questions.

AARP Driver Safety Course

Participants will learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. Registration is required and space is limited. Register now by calling 303-413-7290. Fee of $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members is paid directly to the instructor on the day of the class. Affordable Rental Options with Boulder Housing Partners

Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) is the Housing Authority for the City of Boulder. BHP offers a variety of options to support rentals for people with lower and middle incomes including subsidy vouchers, affordable rentals and market rate rentals. Join BHP’s Lyndall Ellingson, Resident Services Program Manager, to review the differences between these programs, how to apply, and housing programs currently under development.

Medicare Open Enrollment Information Session

Medicare Open Enrollment runs October 15 – December 7. This Medicare pre-open enrollment session will provide information on what changes are ahead for Medicare in 2026, drug coverage updates, how to avoid mistakes in coverage, avoiding open enrollment scams, and the importance of reviewing coverage. State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) Medicare Counseling provided by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging. SHIP helps Medicare-eligible beneficiaries, families and caregivers navigate the Medicare system and provides free, unbiased and individualized information as well as assisting with claims issues and appeals.

Let’s Talk About Dying

End-of-life educators and doulas Diane Hullet and Margaret Kane will share a presentation and facilitate a discussion about why conversations around death and dying truly matter. Topics will include how to begin these important conversations, frameworks for making difficult medical decisions, and what discussions need to happen in advance—and with whom. Participants will be invited to create their own personalized end-of-life to-do list and will leave with helpful resources for further exploration.

Car Fit

Developed by AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association, CarFit's trained professionals take older drivers through a 12-point checklist with a personal vehicle and recommend minor adjustments that help make the car "fit" better for comfort and safety. CarFit professionals will also explain how to maintain and strengthen driving health. Participants must register in advance for a 30-minute time slot.

Language, Symbols, and Meaning at the End of Life

What are some of the metaphors and symbolic language used by the dying? How might these experiences shift thoughts about dying? Participants explore these questions and more and leave with meaningful resources for continued reflection.
