Community Protection Division Drop-in Office Hours

The Community Protection Division of the Boulder County District Attorney can answer questions and concerns about disputes between individual consumers and businesses, including various types of scams. Older adults can meet with a Community Protection Specialist once a month for 15-30 minutes to discuss personal situations and ask questions. The Community Protection Specialist is not able to answer legal questions or provide legal advice. Drop-in on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers must check in at front desk.
Folsom Street Safety Improvements Project Focus Group

Join this focus group for older adults to give feedback on the city’s Folsom Street Safety Improvements Project. Folsom Street from Pine Street to Colorado Avenue is an important corridor in central Boulder. As a key city street, Folsom Street connects homes, office spaces, restaurants, shops, grocery stores, parks, and CU Boulder’s Main Campus, to each other and to the city’s transportation network for walking, bicycling, driving, and taking local and regional transit. This project includes community engagement, along with transportation data analysis and professional best practices, to help inform conceptual designs that improve north-south travel on Folsom Street between Pine Street and Colorado Avenue. This project will provide safer, more connected and more comfortable travel choices on Folsom Street no matter how people choose to move along or across this corridor.

Assistive Technology Fair

Join Older Adult Services for an Assistive Technology Fair. The purpose of this event is to connect older adults with assistive technology resources and services in the community. Participants will leave with information on items, equipment, and software programs to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities. Featured resources will include assistive technology related to mobility, language/speech, hearing, vision, and age-related challenges. This is a drop-in event, registration is encouraged but not required.
AARP Driver Safety Course
Participants will learn the current rules of the road, defensive driving techniques, and how to operate their vehicles more safely in today's increasingly challenging driving environment. Registration is required and space is limited. Register now by calling 303-413-7290. Fee of $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members is paid directly to the instructor on the day of the class. Share Ideas About the Future of Robots

The goal of this research is to learn how older adults believe robots could assist in activities of daily living. Participants will be introduced to robotics concepts, then work alongside robotics researchers using Lego and craft materials to create prototypes of ideas. No robotics experience is required. Participants may attend up to three, 90 minute meetings to design robot prototypes, and will receive $10 in compensation in the form of an Amazon gift certificate for each session attended (maximum value $30).
