He continued creating throughout high school, earning several artistic achievement awards. Upon graduation, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Colorado receiving his Associates Degree and launching a mural painting business. He completed his BFA at Metropolitan State University of Denver, studying under Carlos Fresquez, a prominent Colorado artist and muralist.

Bobby MaGee owned and operated a multidisciplinary art gallery in the River North (RiNo) Art District of Denver, CO where he regularly showed and curated work for two years.
