Why is the city upgrading lights?
The city has rules about outdoor lighting. These rules improve safety, save energy and reduce light pollution. Many lights in Boulder Meadows don't meet the city's requirements. These upgrades will help Boulder Meadows residents follow the city’s rules.
You may have received a notice from the City of Boulder indicating that your exterior lighting is out of compliance with city requirements.
Who is upgrading the lights?
The city has hired a company called Colorado Lighting. Technicians will have uniforms that say Colorado Lighting.
How do I know if my home will receive a free outdoor lighting upgrade?
We will only be visiting homes that have agreed to receive free assistance for the replacement of your outdoor lighting.
In the next couple weeks, community members and/or City of Boulder staff will be collecting Self Certification Forms. We will be attempting to contact you via phone, email and in person. We will provide free outdoor lighting upgrades to homeowners who complete a Self Certification form ONLY.
