Camp Amico

Camp Amico

Camp Amico is for youth and teens ages 10 to 17 with developmental disabilities.

Amico runs for seven weeks each summer providing a therapeutic summer camp experience to help our campers work on social skills, be active, and have fun! This popular program includes peer mentors (teens without disabilities) to make this program an inclusive experience and to help our teens build connections to other youth within their schools and the community.

Camp Amico+

Camp Amico+ is for transition-aged young adults ages 18 to 21 with developmental disabilities who are looking for a fun summer experience with their friends!

Camp Amico Mentor Program: Ages 14 to 17

This program gives young individuals the opportunity to develop positive leadership skills and have fun throughout the summer. The mentor program is for energetic and motivated teens who want to work with teens with developmental disabilities in a camp setting.

Through direct supervision and hands on experience, mentors will learn to lead activities and engage camp participants. The mentors will attend a variety of trainings that will teach them to be effective leaders, improve their self-confidence, and assist camp participants all while developing new friendships.

We encourage the mentors to take full responsibility in the application process by completing an application and obtaining an interview.

Must be available for multi-weeks throughout the summer as well as training during the week of May 30 to June 2.

Interested individuals should contact Emily Nelsen at 720-726-0984 or nelsene@bouldercolorado.gov.
